Spotty

I had a lovely loaf of St. Joseph bread from last week feast. It was nice while it lasted, but I didn’t get through it before it acquired green spots. This is a great reminder that we need to take advantage of moments while we can and share with others when possible.

When did I feel most alive?

After talking Thursday night, DC called Friday to suggest that we should pray together daily. So my new morning routine includes a 6:30am phone call to pray the Angelus and "Veni Sancte Spiritus, Veni per Mariam." I think this level of community and accountability will benefit us both, even if the hour is early.

I did my taxes! And it’s not yet April.

While the rain interfered with Saturday’s plan to go for a walk, the snow quickly melted when the sun came out on Sunday. After mass and brunch with a group of friends, NA and I went for a walk in the park. We prayed the Rosary as we walked, garnering some odd looks from the people we passed. Providentially we finished the Rosary at 3pm, so we proceeded to sing the Divine Mercy chaplet and finished as we got back to where we had parked. :) It’s been a while since we’ve done this, and it made for such a lovely Sunday.

When did I feel most drained of life?

“Better living through chemistry,” BP tells me. This is a classic chemist line. I’m still waiting for it to prove itself. This is supposed to make the previous attempt go better. No significant changes to the plan; we’re going to try to dull the pain (while convincing me that it will be worth it).

My SIL does not seem to understand how to act like a member of a family. I am tired of hearing family news through her Facebook status updates. It was a happy update (although surprising since she didn’t post Monday’s unfortunate news). I passed the information onto my grandmother and mother who were both happy to hear, but then realized that they’d forgotten to tell me Monday’s update. Grrrr…
