Good Idea, Bad Idea

Good idea… A Saturday evening picnic supper in the park, watching the clouds, semi-napping in the sun, followed by a performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor, set in the 1920s. (I love the annual Shakespeare in the Park festival.)
Bad idea… Not being adequately prepared for the soggy ground caused by that morning’s rain showers.
Good idea… Agreeing to take part in a secret mission after Mass. Upon being asked by a bystander what we were doing as we left the sacristy, VS called out "Saving the liturgy and saving the world." ;)
Bad idea… Doing dirty work in the tower while wearing a white shirt and sandals. I didn't plan for the dusty mess when I dressed on Sunday morning.

The last two weeks were filled with some difficult days although there were many things to smile about. Many upheavals have interrupted the normal rhythm of life--friends moving away or just leaving for the summer, new schedules and adaptations. I'll be happier when it all settles down.
More significantly, I spent a few days visiting my brother! It's such a blessing to be able to spend time with him, and yet it can be so challenging.

Wishing you all a beautiful and blessed week.
