Noblesse oblige is a French expression meaning whoever claims to be noble must conduct himself nobly. Or more figuratively, that one must act in a fashion that conforms with one’s position and with the reputation that one has earned. Wow! I hope that I will continue to live up to this standard. This blog is a baby compared to so many others, but I think that I have found a rhythm for it. The weekly Sleeping with Bread posts are reflective and sometimes creative. Brief posts with quotes, poems and pictures are meant to uplift people both through contemplation and humor. Occasional expositions on chemical topics are meant to be interesting and edifying. Generally, I hope that this a welcoming place in the blogosphere for all.
I would like to confer on the following bloggers the Noblesse Oblige Award, which they have earned with all the rights, privileges, and emoluments thereto appertaining.
1. Antonia of Antonia's World has insightful posts on the topics of doctoring, mothering, and Catholicism. And posts pics of her darling baby Joey.
2. Adrienne at Adrienne’s Catholic Corner crafts spunky and acerbic posts on US politics and assorted other topics.
3. Cate of Caeli et Terrae prodded me into creating this blog. I recognize her for all that her blog was with the hope that she’ll return with her lovely graphics and interesting stories.
