I often find that music can either match my mood or help me bend it the way I like. Last week Big and Rich’s “Slow Motion” came up randomly on my iPod. While I like this song, it really didn’t seem to fit, so I quickly skipped it. Work was busy, but I was feeling confident and optimistic about projects. And I was headed to sunnier climes for a long (working) weekend. The whimsical “Another Postcard” (Barenaked Ladies) was a better fit. I don’t know why chimpanzee postcards are so amusing, but it’s hard not to smile when thinking about one being overwhelmed by the arrival of postcards in the mail.
Unfortunately, the family news that greeted me upon my return from the conference turned all that on its head. I am feeling overwhelmed by the same projects that I was comfortable with last week. And the unseasonably warm weather cannot keep from wanting “Slow Motion” to pop up. But I’ll leave Phantom of the Opera in the CD player for now and wait for a "Feels Like Today" (Rascal Flatts) day.
I covet any prayers that y'all can offer for my family this week. Thanks and God bless.

Prayers rising for you and your family. And remember as you once told me, it is Christ's yoke we share and so we don't walk alone.
Thanks for that reminder, Cate. Things are getting better, slowly but surely.
